The St. Croix River Flyway has some of the finest bird watching in the country.

Check this area often for different types of birds at our feeders.

Pileated Woodpecker
Pileated Woodpecker

This Pileated Woodpecker is visiting our main deck suet feeder on 12/19/01. There are three of these that visit pretty much every morning. There are six different types of Woodpeckers that are at the feeders on a regular bases. Since we are located on Wisconsin's St. Croix River flyway many species of birds migrate through in the spring and fall, making a trip to our inn a perfect destination for those who love birding. There are four resident eagles that stay all year and hunt the river in front of our B&B. Located just down stream is a large rookery of whooping cranes. There are Osprey, Hawks and Wild Turkeys all over the area. Located 400 feet from our property is a 2500 acre property called Standing Cedars. This property has five miles of unspoiled river front. There are many trails to tour through this area. There you can see the birds or watch for the many species of plants including a number of endangered plants species being preserved in this beautiful property. There is also a hidden falls and many natural artisan springs that bubble out of the river bluff.
