Interstate park, is 50,000 acres located a few miles north of Osceola. This park encompasses areas in the state of Minnesota and Wisconsin. Taylors Falls and the Dalles area of Wisconsin are part of this beautiful park. Hiking, canoeing, camping, rock climbing, cross country skiing, swimming are a few of the activities there. Rated as one of the nation's top spots for viewing leaves in the fall. Ski, mountain bike or golf at the Afton Alps recreation area. Other Osceola area activities include: biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, down hill (Wild Mountain and Trollhaugen) and cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ATVing, antiquing, theatre, scenic historic train trips on the Osceola train, Standing Cedars environmental acres. You could stay for weeks and not run out of things to see and experience.

There are approximately 460 lakes in Polk county. We host some of the finest fishing in the United states. The St. Croix is one of the most diverse fisheries in the country. Many consider parts of the St. Croix as one of the finest small mouth bass fishing experiences in the country.

Rent a bike for the day. Gandy Dancer bike trail will lead you all the way from St. Croix Falls to Danberry WI. Sixty beautiful miles of asphalt trails. Mountain bikers may continue the trail all the way to Duluth. Bike rentals are available in the summer.


This shot is below the falls at Taylors Falls. Considered one of the best areas in the country for canoeing and kayaking. The St. Ctoix is one of the cleanest rivers in the country. Taylor Falls is on the Minnesota side of Interstate park. This portion of the park has huge potholes some with unknown depths. The cliffs in the park are a favorite for rock climbers.

The Gandy Dancer bike trail is a few miles up the road in St. Croix Falls. From there you may bike all the way to Duluth.
